What price for January’s local produce?

January 19, 2011 in Pricing | 1 comment

You may think that January might not be the most colourful of months for fresh vegetables, but you can still eat well, eat seasonally, eat local produce and save pounds.

This week we have had a few of our customers call in to find out what's in season in Britain at the moment and in particular which items are Cornish. We've done our research and our sums and put together a long list of items which are ready to eat now - we're calling this our 'Best of British' Box:

Beansprouts
Bok Choi

Garlic

Leeks
(Cornish)
Onions

Celeriac

Sprouts

Cauliflower
(Cornish)
Swede
(Cornish)
Kale
(Cornish)
Carrots

Cabbage
(Cornish)
Potatoes
(Cornish)
Parsnips

Celery

New Potatoes
(Mids)

This array of British and Cornish items would cost you just £15.00 from cornishfoodmarket.co.uk in comparison to a supermarket average of £20.22 - saving you a huge 25.2% - and remember our delivery is free, saving your even more.

That's a wonderful saving of at least £8 when you include delivery!

Great - a regular list like this on-site would be really helpful. I really want to buy Cornish when I can.
