Cornish Food Market are proud to announce our involvement in the first ever Cornish Asparagus Festival at the Penventon Park Hotel on Sunday 27 May 2012, 11am – 4pm.

This showcase of this seasonal delicacy will include cookery demonstrations from some of the county’s most talented chef’s giving you the chance to pick up top tips, recipes and insight into how best to cook with asparagus.

The line up of chefs who will be displaying their skills includes:
 

• Joe Lado Devesa, Penventon Park Hotel's Executive Chef and the man who's idea this celebration of Cornish asparagus was. Joe is renowned for having a real passion for Cornish produce whicih is echoed in his style of cooking. He uses fresh, local, seasonal produce, cooking simple dishes which allow the quality of the produce to speak for itself.
• Nigel Tabb, Head Chef from Tabb’s in Truro who prides himself on a weekly changing menu that reflects the very best seasonal and local produce.
• Arty Williams, Head Chef at The Cove in Maenporth, where Arty's commitment to using quality Cornish produce, grown and caught locally, within its dishes. from scallops to samphire, his local knowledge and experience allows him to source the very best ingredients that Cornwall has to offer.
• John Waterhouse, an acclaimed pastry chef who worked in hospitality catering for top UK hotels and restaurants in Manchester, Oxford and Scotland before joining Cornwall College, where he shares tips, techniques and his passion for cooking with Cornwall’s budding young chefs.

In addition you will be able to enjoy a stroll around the beautiful hotel grounds and enjoy their lunchtime asparagus menu.

Cornish Food Market will have a strong presence at the festival giving you the chance to meet members of the team and see some of the range of Cornish produce that we provide. We will also be offering hourly prize draws for selections of our great locally sourced products. As well as all this entry is FREE!!
